KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 (Bernama) – The Entrepreneur Development Ministry (MED) has resumed the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) funding and assistance programme, the Business Accelerator Programme (BAP), under SME Corporation Malaysia.

Its Secretary-General Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi said pending applications are being vetted through, while new ones will be processed next year.

“We are going through the screening process. It will be resolved soon," she said at the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) SME Conference 2018.

The programme, previously suspended, was established to provide financial assistance to the SMEs and strengthening their core business, building capacity and capability.

Under the previous BAP 2.0, a partial grant and soft loan assistance was available for SMEs to develop automation, branding and packaging, purchase of machineries as well as working capital.
