Amended 18 voting age a major breakthrough, says Sabah politician

KOTA KINABALU, July 17 (Bernama) -- Malaysians have shown democratic maturity with Parliament passing a ground-breaking vote to lower the nation’s voting age from 21 to 18 years.

“It is a historic vote where parliamentarians stood in one voice to amend the Federal Constitution on Tuesday to allow for our younger generation to play a more important role in nation building," said Jo-Anna Sue Henley Rampas, who is political secretary to Sabah's Chief Minister.....

Defence Ministry urged to use new technologies to check intrusion by fishing boats


KUCHING, July 17 (Bernama) – Stampin Member of Parliament Chong Chieng Jen has urged the Defence Ministry to implement long-term measures, including incorporating new technologies, in carrying out enforcement against intrusion by illegal fishing boats that has affected the local fishing industry, especially in Sarawak waters.
