Past failure spurs father and son into successful dragonfruit venture

LAHAD DATU, July 18  (Bernama) --  If you fail, then try again and this was the spirit that a father and son pair here embodied as they overcame a previous failed attempt at farming and livestock breeding to now manage a successful dragonfruit venture in Anjung Teduh, Felda 2, Tungku near here.

Recalling their not so successful past, Mohd Fadly Sultan, 29 said his 74-year-old father, Sultan Daruma had invested in a goat breeding and a pineapple and Pandan coconut project that eventually failed and left the family poorer by RM70,000. 

Not ones to give up easily, the pair eyed dragonfruit cultivation instead, and the rest, as they say, is history, with their venture now an overwhelming success in Sabah.....
