Plans to improve Gula Apong in Beting Maru

BELADIN, Dec 29 (Bernama) -- The state government has allocated a sum of RM2 million to set up its industrial area in Beting Maru, while there are plans to further improve the quality of the Gula Apong or Nipah Palm Sugar produced  in Beting Maru here, said Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.

Uggah said these include mechanising the processing of the gula apong to accentuate its quality and nutritive values, giving suitable packaging before rebranding it as Nipah Honey in its liquid form.....
