Penang police hunting down 'Rantau Gang'

GEORGE TOWN, Oct 18 -- Penang police have set up a special team to hunt down the ‘Rantau Gang’ that has been actively involved in house break-ins in the state earlier this month, resulting in a loss of RM380,000.

State Police Chief Datuk T.Narenasagaran said the special task force was carrying out intelligence and surveillance in identifying and detecting gang members believed to be foreigners and living in the jungle.....

IPOH, Oct 18 -- Continuous heavy rainfall from yesterday evening caused the homes of seven families in Kampung Sungai Klah Baru, Sungai, to be flooded, sending 21 people to a temporary evacuation centre at midnight.

IPOH,  Oct 18 — A total of 21 people from four families in  Kampung Trolak Pekan, Tanjung Malim, have been moved to a temporary evacuation centre after their homes were hit by flash floods early today.
