Need to appoint more women as village heads

TAIPING, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The government will ensure the appointment of village heads, including in new villages nationwide to meet the 30 per cent quota for women in an effort to empower the group.

Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said young people should also be given the opportunity to become village heads.....

Body of passenger who fell off ferry found


GEORGE TOWN, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The body of a male passenger feared drowned after falling into the sea from a ferry on Friday, was found floating near the Swettenham jetty at 10.30am here today after three days of search and rescue (SAR) operations.
