Ray of hope for dropouts with incomplete documents in Perak

GERIK, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- The Perak government will be setting  up a special committee soon to address the problem of dropouts who do not have complete identification documents.

Perak Education, Technology, Science and Environment Committee chairman Dr Abdul Aziz Bari said the committee which would involve representatives from schools, agencies and related departments, including the state education department.....

Divers await slack water to haul up car on seabed

GEORGE TOWN, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- The authorities are waiting for the period of slack water to resume the task of hauling up a vehicle that had fallen into the sea off the Penang Bridge following an accident on Sunday.

 
 

PLUS proposes speed cameras on Penang Bridge


All depends on the findings of the investigations into the accident there. At present, the speed limit on the bridge is 80 km per hour while the wall is in accordance to the British Standard 5400 (BS 5400).

 
 

Penang Bridge incident : Police record statements of eight people


Police will also record the statement of another driver who was involved in the accident after he completes his treatment at a private hospital in Bayan Baru.

 
 

Operation resumes to retrieve vehicle from sea


Operation team found the vehicle at about 4 pm yesterday in the sea close to Pillar 34 of the bridge but faced difficulty in hooking a cable due to limited underwater visibility and strong currents.
