Langkawi set to be 'smart city' with 5G testing

LANGKAWI, Oct 3 -- This tax-free tourism island will soon turn into a “smart city” through the implementation of 5G demonstration projects, said Kedah Information, Communications and Multimedia and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Committee chairman, Mohd Firdaus Ahmad.

He said for this purpose several telecommunications companies had been given their respective divisions to develop suitable 5G systems and technology on the island.....

Hearing of NRD case to begin on April 6 next year


GEORGE TOWN, Oct 3 -- The High Court here today set five days, beginning April 6 next year, to hear the case of an assistant director of the Penang National Registration Department (NRD) and five others who are facing 13 charges in connection with the issuance and sale of illegal birth certificates and identity cards to foreigners.

 
 

Penang DTCAM denies involvement in organising concert

KANGAR, Oct 1 -- Sanglang assemblyman and Perlis PAS commissioner Mohd Shukri Ramli who collapsed on Sunday night while giving a talk and was subsequently warded at the Coronary Care Unit at Hospital Tuanku Fauziah here, was transferred to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah in Alor Setar this afternoon.
