Petrol station manager detained for lodging false robbery report

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- A petrol station manager who claimed she was robbed of the week's collection of RM35,000 by an unidentified man on Tuesday was arrested by police yesterday after she was believed to have made up the incident.

The 59-year-old woman is now being investigated for making a false report after police obtained information that the cash was actually used for gambling and to celebrate the Chinese New Year, said Seberang Tengah police chief ASP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid today.....

Stall owner rented out business site to foreigners - assemblyman


GEORGE TOWN, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- The owner of a food stall and car wash, demolished by the Penang City Council (MBPP) in Teluk Bahang yesterday, has rented the business site to foreigners, said Teluk Bahang state assemblyman Zolkifly Mohd Lazim.

 
 

Disruption of Kuala Perlis-Langkawi ferry services from Feb 21-23


KANGAR, Feb 14  (Bernama) -- The Northern Region Marine Department Wednesday issued a notice on cancellation of the 8.30am and 9.30am ferry services  from the Kuala Perlis terminal to Langkawi and back from Feb 21-23 due to the sea level along the route falling by 0.2 metres in certain areas.
