Govt intends to extend service of council members to one term

GEORGE TOWN, Oct 14 -- The government intends to extend the term of service of local authority council (PBT) members to one term instead of one or two years as currently practised, said housing and local government minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.

She said the tenure of a term or five years was the same as that held by state assemblymen and members of Parliament.....
