'Gunung Bintang' in Kedah has ecotourism potential'

KULIM, July 4 (Bernama) -- Kedah’s highest mountain Gunung Bintang, a popular attraction among mountaineers and hikers, has the potential to become an ecotourism destination.

Speaking to Bernama here recently, Kulim assemblyman Yeo Keng Chuan said the 1,862-metre high mountain, which is rich in flora and fauna, could be equipped with infrastructure and facilities to draw more visitors and in the process, generate income for the local community. 

Gunung Bintang, which is part of the Bintang mountain range and serves as a boundary between Kedah and Perak, boasts a temperature of about 18 degrees Celsius and is also located near another tourist attraction, the Sungai Sedim Forest Eco Park.....

Penang to wait for land council’s decision on urban regeneration
