Police to meet Women's Day march organisers

ALOR SETAR, March 11 (Bernama) -- Police will summon the organisers of the Women’s Day march held in Kuala Lumpur last Saturday, attended by the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and their supporters.  

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the investigation papers on the gathering, which he claimed was not authorised by the police, had been opened and the parties involved would be called in to have their statements recorded.

"Anyone wishing to organise a parade or gathering should inform the district police chief. Failing to do so is an offence under Section 9 (5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and as far as I know no permit was issued for the rally.....
