Crowdfunding helped rubber tapper's son pursue studies

KOTA BHARU, Sept 3 -- A rubber tapper’s son, Muhammad Izzat Amran Ibrahim, 20, thought he would have to give up his dream of studying in a university when his family could not come up with the RM1,400 to pay the registration fees.

However, about one week after his story went viral on the social media, crowdfunding has not only helped Muhammad Izzat Amran enroll at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Penang, he also had a little bit extra to buy some essential items and still has some pocket money.....
