MAIDAM urged to improve assistance programmes

KUALA TERENGGANU, July 15 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIDAM) has been urged by the Attorney-General's Department to improve its process of providing assistance and quality of homes built under the Asnaf Home Assistance (Bina Baru) programme to ensure it achieves its objectives.

The Auditor-General's Report 2018 Series 1, said the current process of reviewing and approving applications for assistance was inefficient and ineffective, as only 17.7 per cent of the 209 applications had been approved within the stipulated period.....
