Need for joint federal-Johor govt conference on environment - Kit Siang

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 -- A joint conference between the federal and Johor state governments needs to be conducted to address environmental issues and to pave the way for a blueprint to ensure environmental quality in the state.

In proposing this, Iskandar Puteri Member of Parliament Lim Kit Siang, who is also DAP Adviser, said just within five months this year, the southern part of the state had been hit by three environmental disasters, affecting thousands of people.....

Homeless man with knife in public sentenced to five years' jail


The Sessions Court here today sentenced a homeless man to five years’ jail for possession of an offensive weapon in a public place without a valid permit.

 
 

IP on SRC submitted directly to AG - High Court told

The High Court here today set Sept 17 to hear an application by businessman Datuk Tan Eng Boon to postpone the hearing of his corruption case,  which is to be heard jointly with former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor ‘s case  pertaining to an application by a company to increase the plot ratio for development in Jalan Semarak.

 
 

Sept 23 hearing for Riza Aziz's application to transfer case to High Court


The High Court here today set Sept 23 to hear the defence's application to transfer the case of Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz, the stepson of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on money laundering charges amounting to US$248 million (RM1.25 billion), allegedly misappropriated from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) from the Sessions Court to the High Court.
