Continue cycling talent scouting programmes - Steven Sim

SEREMBAN, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- Ongoing programmes to unearth new talent in cycling must continue as the sport has tremendous potential for national glory, especially in the Olympic Games. 

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said as such, there was no room for complacency.

“We have to keep coming up with programmes to scout for new talent,” he said, adding that the 2019 Junior Cycling Malaysia (JCM) organised by the National Sports Council (NSC) and CIMB Foundation was one good example of discovering new talent as backup for the current batch of national cyclists. 

He cited national junior cyclist, Abdul Azim Aliyas, 17, as among young talents spotted in the JCM programme.....
