Social Welfare Dept looking for girl's family

ALOR SETAR, Nov 7 -- The Kulim district Social Welfare Department (SWD) is tracking down the parents or family of a girl known as Chloe Pang Xian who is about three years old, to facilitate the documentation process.

SWD officer Manab Mehat in a statement today said it was believed that her biological father handed the girl to Pang Soon Say and his wife Siew Yin Wah three years ago without any document.

The girl was handed over to the couple at Coffee Shop 33, No. 500, Lorong Cengai Kuning, Taman Bersatu in Kulim, he said.

He said a court order was obtained on Oct 15 under Section 19 (2) (a) of the Children Act, and the girl currently under the custody of Pang and his wife.

Hence, he urged the biological parents or family of the girl to contact the department’s officer Munirah Athirah Abdul Azizi at 04-4907403 to facilitate the matter.
