Johor looking for an incentive for Malaysia Cup champion, JDT

Last Update: 06/11/2019

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Nov 6 -- The Johor state government is looking into a special incentive for the Johor Darul Ta'zim football club for winning the Malaysia Cup final against Kedah last Saturday, said Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Sharuddin Jamal.

He, however, said the quantum and form of incentives would be announced in the near future.

"Insha Allah (God Willing) Johor government will give the JDT team some much?...just wait," he told reporters at a press conference here today.

JDT won the 2019 Malaysia Cup after defeating Kedah 3-0 in the final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

In the match that was watched by 82,420 supporters, JDT made a brilliant start to the game with two goals in the first half before adding another goal after the breather for a 3-0 victory.

The victory allowed the JDT to avenge the disappointment of the 2014 edition at the same venue as well as claiming their second victory over Kedah in the final after successfully ending its 26-year drought to win the Malaysia Cup in 2017.
