Floods: 270 victims in three Perak relief centres

IPOH, Oct 22 -- Another flood  relief centre (PPS) has been opened in Central Perak bringing the number of such centres opened in the state to three compared to two yesterday.

According to the Social Welfare Department portal, as at 12.50 am, five people from four families were relocated to Parit 13 community hall PPS in Titi Gantong which was opened at 7 pm following heavy rain.

The portal also said two more PPS still in operation are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Changkat Jong, Teluk Intan in Hilir Perak which is housing 235 flood victims from 64 families.

Meanwhile the PPS at SK Changkat Lobak is sheltering 30 people from seven families in Kerian district.

Following that, the overall number of flood victims in Perak now being housed at three PPS is 270 compared to 262 yesterday.
