2nd Infantry Brigade Division 2 now under Division 4

Last Update: 01/08/2019

IPOH, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- The 2nd Infantry Brigade Headquarters previously under the command of Division 2 has been changed to Division 4, effective today, said Chief of Army Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Nazir Mami.

He said the change was in line with the year in which the Army needed to re-align its existing governance structure.

He said the Army Commanders Committee Meeting on May 7 had approved and agreed that the 2nd Brigade be placed under the Division 4 Headquarters at Wardieburn Camp, Kuala Lumpur.

"The restructuring is to balance the strength of all divisions under the Army's Western Field Command in line with the Army Strategic Plan.”

"The transition from Division 2 to Division 4 involved about 3,000 personnel," he said.

He was speaking at a press conference after witnessing a battlefield parade of 31 officers and 600 other members of other ranks in conjunction with the restructuring at Parade Ground, 2nd Battalion Royal Rangers Regiment, Syed Putra Camp here today.

Commenting further, Mohd Nazir said the restructuring would not change the location of the previous army headquarters.

He said with the change, the Division 4 would function more effectively and efficiently in addition to carrying out their previous duties as divisions responsible for the regimental and military aspects.
