Two UiTM Jengka students killed in motorcycle-car crash

MARAN, March 2 (Bernama) -- Two female students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Jengka, were killed when their motorcycle collided into an oncoming car at Kilometre 22 Jalan Temerloh-Jengka today.

Maran District Police Chief DSP Norzamri Abd Rahman said the victims were Siti Najiha Azahar, 21, from Taman Idaman, Kluang, Johor, and her friend Aina Mardhiah Razmi, 21, from Desa Mewah, Semenyih, Selangor.

"The accident was believed to have occurred at about 12 noon when both victims were on their way to Temerloh.

"Initial investigations revealed that the motorcycle with both the victims had overtaken a car before entering into the opposite lane and colliding into an oncoming vehicle," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

Siti Najiha died on the spot after sustaining severe injuries, while Aina Mardhiah died while undergoing  treatment at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HOSHAH).

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Norzamri said the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
