MELAKA, Feb 18 (Bernama) -- The Melaka state government says it is ready to collaborate with the country’s telecommunications players in developing the state’s telecommunications infrastructure.
State Communications, Multimedia, NGO, Youth Development and Sports committee chairman Kerk Chee Yee said such collaboration would encourage the involvement of more telecommunications players in the state and help meet the rising demand.
He said from May to December this year, 55 telecommunications towers were built compared to an annual average of 30 in previous years, although the number is still far short of the annual target of 100.
"In Melaka, telecommunications coverage and mobile signals have their own challenges, and we have set up a committee to find solutions to the connectivity problem," he told reporters after launching the Unifi Mobile 2019 carnival at Menara TM in Ayer Keroh here today.
Meanwhile, Melaka TM general manager Meor Shahril Anuar Ahmad Rathuan said the carnival aims to raise public awareness of the benefits of Unifi services.
He said Unifi Mobile’s latest post-paid package could facilitate the public’s Internet access, following the introduction of the Mobile 99, Mobile 19, Mobile 29, Mobile 39 and Mobile 59 plans.
