Johor police arrest local man, seize drugs in car

JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 27 (Bernama) - A local man was arrested by police after an assortment of drugs were found in his car at the Sedenak Toll Plaza near Kulai, this morning.

Kulai District Police Chief, Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the 52-year-old man driving a black Proton Perdana  was detained at 1am by a police team from the  Narcotics Crime Investigation Division and Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division of  the District Police headquarters here.

"As a result of the inspection, we found a transparent plastic package containing bars and powder suspected to be heroin weighing 28.52 grams and a transparent plastic package containing crystals, believed to be Syabu weighing 25.89 grams.

"We also found a piece of red and silver foil that contained two pills which were believed to be Erimin weighing 0.58 grams," he said in a statement, here today.

The suspect also tested positive for Methamphetamine and had previous records for drug-related offences, he said.
