Bintong residents living in fear of drug addicts

Last Update: 22/01/2019

KANGAR, Jan 22  (Bernama) -- Some 2,000 residents in two villages  in Bintong – Kampung Baru Syed Omar and Kampung Baru Sungai Batu Pahat – are living in fear of drug addicts.

Their spokesman,  Abdul Rahman Muhammad, 54, when met by Bernama, said last month alone there were four break-ins.

"I was one of the victims but fortunately no one was hurt. The suspects, who I believe are drug addicts, scooted away with some money and a smarthphone,” he said.

An officer of the Perlis Anti-Drug Agency when contacted by Bernama, said the agency was aware of what was happening and was still monitoring the situation.

Police also said the two villages were on their radar.
