SEREMBAN, Jan 14 (Bernama) -- A 33-year-old man, who accompanied his cousin to discuss about a lost motorcycle, was injured after being attacked by a group of men armed with machetes and canes at the roadside near Taman Angsamas, Mambau last night.

Seremban District police chief ACP Thiew Hock Poh said the cousin, who is also the complainant, his 20-year-old brother and the victim had gone to meet a man they knew by the roadside near Taman Angsamas at 7.45pm.

It was to discuss the motorcycle the complainant had lost near the Taman Kelab Tuanku, Mambau area three days ago.

“When they reached the roadside, they saw a group of eight men waiting for them.

“While they were in discussion, the group of men suddenly started assaulting the victim with machetes and canes,” he said in a statement today.

According to Thiew, the victim was sent to hospital for treatment after suffering injuries to his head and face while the complainant and his brother were not hurt.

“However, the victim was allowed to leave the hospital after receiving treatment. Members of the public with information on the case can contact investigation officer Insp Nitheish at telephone number 06-6033284 or the Seremban District Police Headquarters hotline 06-6014999,” he said.
