Duo rob pharmacy, use firearm-like object

JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 12 (Bernama) – Two men robbed a pharmacy in Taman Kasih, Simpang Renggam of about RM300 and walked away with its cash register by whipping out a firearm-like object to scare its workers, yesterday evening.

Kluang District Police Chief ACP Mohd Abduh Ismail said that no one was hurt in the 5.45pm incident and that police received a report from the pharmacy owner 15 minutes later.

"The pharmacist, a woman, in her report claimed that her employees were at the back of the store, when two men entered the premises.

“One of them held an object that looked like a firearm and pointed it at the workers while the other man went up to the counter and took the cash register.

“They then took off in a grey Nissan Sylphy car along with the cash register," he said in a statement here today.

There were no customers during the time and the five workers did not sustain any injuries Those with information on the two suspects or the case can assist the police by calling investigation officer Insp Kasturiah Arif at 013-3137051 or the Kluang Police Headquarters hotline at 07-7784222.
