30,000 users in Kedah to be affected by water supply disruption from tomorrow

Last Update: 06/01/2019

ALOR SETAR, Jan 6 (Bernama) --  Residents in the Kota Setar and Pendang districts are advised to store enough water following the temporary halt in operations of the Bukit Tinggi water pump at the Lubang Pahat Water Treatment Plant (LRA) in Kubang Pasu, for 24 hours beginning tomorrow.

State Public Works, Water Supply and Water and Energy Resources Comittee chairman Zamri Yusof said the stoppage from 9 pm Monday to Tuesday would involve about 30,000 user accounts.

He said among the affected areas were from Sungai Mati to Pekan Langgar, Titi Haji Idris to Tanah Merah Town, Pekan Pendang Mosque, Tobiar, Kubur Panjang, and Kampung Alor Semela to Simpang Empat Kangkong.

"The temporary stoppage is to enable change of equipment at the plant," he said.

The public may contact Syarikat Air Darul Aman’s information centre at 1-300-88-0017 for further inquiries.
