42 people rounded up by police for suspected drug abuse in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU,  Jan 5  (Bernama) -- Police detained 42 people for suspected drug abuse during  a week-long operation which ended last Tuesday in the Kota Kinabalu district.

District police chief ACP Habibi Majinji said 12 of them were arrested for drug possession and the others tested positive for drug.

Those arrested included 13 foreigners and all the suspects were between 16 and 43-years-old, he said in a statement here today.

He said 15.95gm of syabu was seized from the suspects during the week-long operation.

Police will step up operations to eliminate drug abuse and trafficking in the district and urged those with information to contact the nearest police station, he said.
