PAFA executive committee reject Hasnul's resignation as president

IPOH, Nov 13 (Bernama) – The Perak Football Association (PAFA) executive committee have unanimously rejected the resignation of its president Hasnul Zulkarnain Abdul Munaim.

PAFA vice-president Datuk Muhammad Yadzan Mohammad said the committee held a special meeting today and decided to give Hasnul 14 days to reconsider his Nov 8 decision to step down.

“We are giving him time to think rationally. He played a crucial role in bringing back the Malaysia Cup. So, why shouldn’t we give him a second chance? He has already apologised (for allegedly tarnishing the image and prestige of the Malaysia Cup) and we should look forward,” he told the media at the PAFA office here today.

He said it was possible that he might assume the post of acting president if Hasnul was adamant about quitting.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Yadzan confirmed that they had accepted the resignation of deputy president Datuk Adly Shah Ahmad Tah, who announced his decision on Nov 8 citing the need to focus on his business.
