KANGAR, Nov 10 (Bernama) –  While most of the people of Perlis get to enjoy clean water, the residents of Kampung Abi Tok Hashim here say they have to content with a steady supply of dirty water.

Such has been their fate for the last 15 years, and they are now hoping that the situation will now change so that they can finally get to enjoy clean water.

Resident Rosmaini Che Aim, 39,  who has been living in the village for more than 10 years, is disappointed that he has no choice but use dirty water for his daily needs.

“I have to use my own money every month to pay for the instalments for a water filter because I value my family’s health,” he told Bernama at his home today.

Rosmaini said the water that he gets at home even contains soil and sediments, believed to be caused by leakages in the main pipes.

He added that many complaints had been filed with the relevant authorities such as the Public Works Department and ?????Syarikat Air Perlis, but without much success.
