Malaysian GP: Marquez grabs pole

SEPANG, Nov 3 (Bernama) – The 2018 MotoGP world champion, Marc Marquez of Repsol Honda Team will be starting the 2018 Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix on pole tomorrow, after topping the qualifying round at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) here, today.
The Spaniard blazed the 5.543- kilometre (km) spectacular track in wet conditions to recorded two minutes and 12.161 seconds (s) to edge Johann Zarco of Monster Yamaha Tech 3 into second place while nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi of Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Team came in third.
Meanwhile, Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati, who took maximum points in both the 2016 and 2017 editions at Sepang Circuit settled the qualifying round at fifth position with a time of 2:13.183s.
In the meantime, the country’s first MotoGP rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah, who earlier hoped for a bright sunny day as he never experienced racing the wet conditions, will start the race at 23rd place after clocking 2:16.825s.
