Robbers escape with jewellery worth RM1.3 mln in Kajang

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- A goldsmith shop located in a hypermarket in Saujana Impian, Kajang suffered losses estimated at RM1.3 million after armed robbers escaped with jewellery from the premises at 10.30am today.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said four men armed with objects resembling a pistol and a hammer rushed into the shop, smashed the glass display counters before fleeing off with several items.

"Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the suspects fleeing the scene in a waiting getaway car,” he said adding that police found two motorcycles at the scene believed to have been left behind by the suspects.

Ahmad Dzaffir added that all the suspects wore full-face helmets with visors,
