ISKANDAR PUTERI, March 8 (Bernama) -- Koperasi Iskandar Malaysia Bhd (imCoop) has recorded higher sales of RM13.68 million last year compared with RM8.02 million in 2016.

Chairman of the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Entrepreneur Development and Co-operatives Committee, Ismail Mohamed, said the increase in sales value of RM5.66 million was proved of the public's acceptance of the retail business through imCoop in the state.

He said to-date, Johor has 20 imCoop outlets.

"It is anticipated that by December this year, imCoop will open another 10 outlets to bring the total to 30 which will offer various products at affordable prices to the rakyat," he said.

Ismail said this in reply to A. Aziz Ismail (BN-Senggarang) on the extent of the public's acceptance of imCoop stores at the Johor State Assembly sitting in Kota Iskandar here today.

He said there were also 14 outlets which also sold wet goods under the MyFarm Outlet programme.

For this year, imCoop planned to hold a community market sales programme, he said.

"The programme will target residents in the Bottom 40 group to enable them to obtain daily necessities at reasonable prices," he said.
