Linggi Assemblyman To Propose Using Interlocking Bricks In RMR1M Projects

Last Update: 06/03/2018

PORT DICKSON, March 6 (Bernama) -- Linggi state assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rahman Mohd Redza is mulling over the possibility to bring the interlocking bricks technology created by Kolej UNITI for the construction of the 1Malaysia People-Friendly Homes (RMR1M) to his constituency.

He said he was now in talks with the Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB) over the matter.

"A feasibility study will be carried out to ensure that the bricks are suitable and cost-effective to be used in the construction of the RMR1M in Linggi.

"The initial plan is to build 10 of such houses using the interlocking bricks. This is because not many contractors are interested in building these homes as conventional method is less profitable due to high cost," he told reporters at the pre-launch of the Kolej UNITI Entrepreneurship Programme here today.

Also present was Kolej UNITI president Datuk Jamal Mohd Amin.
