Last Update: 06/03/2018

KANGAR, March 6 (Bernama) -- The Kangar Municipal Council has advised political parties against putting up their flags before the Election Commission had announced the date for the next general election.

Its president, Khairin Nazry Karim, said the council would impose fines on the parties after it removes their flags.

"Party flags can only be put up in their own premises," he said when asked about the flags put up by some parties in Perlis.

He also said that the political parties would have to apply for a permit to put up their flags.

On another matter, he said the council targeted to collect RM18 million in assessment rate this year compared to the RM14 million last year.
