Police Shoot Dead Two Criminals In Seremban

Last Update: 06/03/2018

SEREMBAN, March 6 (Bernama) -- The police have shot dead two men following a shoot-out between a police squad and the suspected robbery and housebreaking criminals at Persiaran Ainsdale Selatan near here today.

Negeri Sembilan Police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin said the identities of the men, who were in their 30s, had yet to be established as no identification documents were found on them.

He said a crime-prevention squad on patrol along Jalan Seremban 2 - Labu spotted a white Honda City car which aroused suspicion and it tried to intercept but the vehicle sped off with the police in pursuit for about two kilometres.

When cornered, the passenger between the two men fired four shots at the policemen and the driver waved a machete at the police, he said.

Noor Azam said the police returned fire five times in self-defence and the two men died on the spot.

An investigation showed that the car, which had false registration plates, was apparently used in a robbery in Klang.

"The police also recovered a revolver, four empty shells and two bullets, two machetes, tools to break into houses, five false vehicle registration plates and 17 rounds of ammunition," he said.

He also said that the bodies were sent to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital.
