In 2004, Selangor leads other states
in terms of number of projects and value of investment.
Between January and December 2004, there were 336
manufacturing projects with investment worth RM6 billion
approved in Selangor.
The state contributed 31 percent in terms of the number
of projects and 21 percent in term of value of invesment
approved by the Malaysian Industrial Development
Authority (MIDA). Out of the RM6 billion invested, local
investment accounted for RM4.68 billion and RM1.4
billion are foreign investment.
In terms of investment value, Electrical and electronic
products recorded the highest investment worth RM1.23
billion from 40 projects. But in term of the number of
projects, fabricated metal products recorded the most
with 47 projects worth RM281 million.
Selangor is already on the right track to achieve its
goal as an ultra modern Selangor with state-of-the-art
technologies, improved infrastructure, better living
standards for the people and a robust economy.
With the establishment of the Multimedia Super Corridor,
the high-tech Kuala Lumpur International Airport Sepang,
improved port facilities, opening of new industrial
sites through out the State and improving educational
and social amenities, Selangor can be rightfully be
