Bank Rakyat's Satok Branch Records Fixed Deposits Of Above RM1 Billion

KUCHING, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- Bank Rakyat's Satok branch has received the Best Branch Award For Fixed Deposits after successfully raking in fixed deposits of more than RM1 billion last year.

Azman Abdul Aziz, the manager of Bank Rakyat's Kuching branch who disclosed this said the Satok branch was also the second best in profits for the whole of Malaysia.

According to Azman, it also achieved the A+ standard along with three other Bank Rakyat branches throughout the country. The branches are Bank Rakyat Jalan Tangsi, Kuala Lumpur, Bank Rakyat Jalan Ipoh and Bank Rakyat Kota Kinabalu.

Speaking to reporters after an open house by the Satok Branch here today, Azman said the banking products introduced by Bank Rakyat continued to receive good response from customers in Kuching.

He also disclosed that Bank Rakyat would continue to undertake a number of social services for the poor in the state and this year alone, RM245 million in zakat had been given to underpriviledged students in a number of primary and secondary schools.
