ANKARA, March 14 (Bernama) -- Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said Wednesday, relations between Turkey and the United States do not depend on individuals, China's Xinhua news agency reported.
"Whoever comes in, Turkey's stance is clear. It is not so important to us what the new secretary of state thinks about Turkey. I hope healthier relations with the US can be developed after that," he told reporters in Ankara before leaving for Baku, Azerbaijan.
Yildirim's remarks followed the Tuesday sacking of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson by President Donald Trump.
Trump replaced Tillerson with Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director Mike Pompeo.
