GAZA, March 13 (Bernama) -- Hamas on Tuesday condemned the targeting of the convoy carrying Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah in the Gaza Strip, China's Xinhua news agency reported.
''The attack is meant to undermine efforts to achieve the reconciliation with Fatah which rules the West Bank," the Islamic movement said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, a bomb went off near the convoy carrying Hamdallah who was on a rare visit to Gaza. The explosion occurred shortly after the convoy entered Gaza. No injuries were reported.
Hamdallah was in Gaza to oversee the opening of a desalination plant. He was accompanied by Palestinian intelligence chief Majid Faraj.
Hamas deplored the claim by the Palestinian presidency that they were responsible for the attack, adding that it would aid the "criminals" behind the attack to achieve their goals.....
