Bus crash kills at least 13 in corum, northern Turkey

ANKARA, March 13 (Bernama) -- A bus crashed into a parked truck Tuesday morning in Corum province, northern Turkey, killing at least 13 people and injuring 20 others, China's Xinhua new agency reported.

The accident occurred in the Osmancik district, Corum, at 6 am local time (4 am GMT), the news agency said quoting the Sabah daily newspaper.

The bus with 33 passengers on board was travelling from Istanbul to Tokat province when it crashed into a truck bearing a Georgia plate on the Osmancik-Kargi highway, and burst into flames.

Footage on local TV channels showed the fire being brought under control. The bus was completely destroyed. The exact number of victims has not been officially announced.

Several ambulances, fire brigades and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.....
