KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- National women's football head Jacob Joseph is confident that the girls under his charge would achieve the target of making it to the semifinals of the Myanmar SEA Games.
Jacob said based on the current performance of the team, especially in friendly matches against Vietnam and Thailand, reaching the semifinals was a realistic target.
"Competition is going to very stiff but our players are a determined lot who want to prove a point," he told Bernama, recently.
Jacob however, reminded the players to be aware of the danger that teams like Thailand and Laos can pose to derail the country's hopes of reaching the semifinals.
"We were informed that Laos will be fielding three players who are playing in the Japanese League while Thailand have always been a formidable side in the SEA Games as they have their own league...any lapse in concentration against these two teams will be costly," he said.....
