KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- Championship leader, Ahmad Fuad Baharudin's CP130 title hunt is in jeopardy after the Faito Yamaha Motobert rider fell sick ahead of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship grand finale at Shah Alam this weekend.
The two time CP130/Expert Champion was diagnosed with high fever two days ago and since then spent his time recuperating, hoping to make it before the practice session kicks off on Saturday.
If Fuad decides to withdraw, his 128 points lead will amount to nothing as the championship battle will see Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK Honda Racing's Norizman Ismail (127 points) and Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi of Givi Honda Yuzy Pachie who are separated by just 16 points, fight it out for the title.
"I have high fever. I have visited the doctors and was given antibiotics. It's not looking good at the moment but I am determined to clear it before Saturday, latest on Sunday. It's really unfortunate to be struck down by fever at such a crucial time," said Ahmad Fuad in a statement Friday.
If he gets to race this weekend, Fuad insisted he will approach Sunday's decisive race with a round-by-round method as opposed to maintaining his main focus on winning the championship.....
