NAYPYITAW, Dec 4 (Bernama) -- National junior wushu exponent Chan Lu Yi who will be making her debut hopes to win a medal at the Myanmar SEA Games as a gift to her family, for their continuous support.
The Form Four student from Sekolah Sukan Bukit Jalil (SSBJ) said she was not going to set any lofty targets for the games since it would be her first appearance at the SEA Games level.
"Competition in the SEA Games is of a very high standard because many world class exponents are in the region. But I will not admit defeat before trying my best because this is a very meaningful competition for me," she told Bernama today.
Lu Yi's best ever achievement since becoming a national junior exponent was a bronze medal in the 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games at Palembang, Indonesia, two months ago.
"I hope the experience gained in Palembang will come in handy in Myanmar," said the 16-year-old who competes in the women's individual Taijiquan and individual Taijijian.....
