KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 (Bernama) -- The National karate squad will compete in the World Karate Federation (WKF) World Cup in Lasko, Slovenia over the weekend.
The Malaysian Karate Federation (Makaf) has sent nine exponents and two coaches for the World Cup.
After competing in the World Cup, the National squad will head to Hungary for a week long training as part of their preparation for the Myanmar SEA Games in December.
Makaf secretary-general Vincent Chen Chee Hong said the karate squad will not return after the World Cup but instead go to Hungary for a training stint to prepare for the SEA Games.
"The team will comprise a blend of elite and back up exponents. In fact, we are facing a shortage of potential exponents since many elite exponents have either retired or are injured," Chee Hong told Bernama.....
