KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 (Bernama) -- National archer, Khairul Anuar Mohamad does not want to set a high target in the individual recurve at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia from Aug 18 to Sept 2, to avoid pressure on himself.
Despite having his own mission for the Games in Jakarta, the 26-year-old Terengganu-born said he did not want to focus too much on chasing after target that could affect his performance.
"I want to be more relaxed for individual event. As for the team event, I will definitely push myself. The challenge is going to be really tough, especially with world-class teams from South Korea and China.
"When we are aware of the countries that will give a fierce competition, we will have our own strategies in the qualifying round in order to win medals," he told reporters after the visit by Malaysia's chef-de-mission to the 2018 Asian Games, Datuk Seri Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi, at the National Sports Council here today.
Joining Khairul Anuar in the national men's recurve squad are Muhammad Akmal Nor Hasrin, Haziq Kamaruddin and Muhammad Zarif Zolkepeli.....
