KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- Perak have kept their hopes alive to clinch the 2018 Super League championship after edging PKNP FC 2-1 at Penang State Stadium in Batu Kawan tonight.
The victory which was the second consecutive win after their 3-0 mauling of Selangor in an earlier match, enabled the squad under Mehmed Durakovic to collect 10 points to take the fourth place, five points behind league leader Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).
In the match, Perak slotted two goals in the first half via Brazilian import Wander Luiz Bitencourt Junior in the 19th and team captain Mohamad Nasir Basharuddin (24th minute).
PKNP who were playing before their own fans succeeded in closing the gap in the 81st minute by their lethal striker Muhammad Shahrel Fikri Md Fauzi, but failed to find the equaliser and gave Perak three precious points.
Meanwhile, at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur failed to benefit from their home ground advantage when they were tied to a 2-2 draw by 2014 league champions, Pahang.....
