KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- The national Under-16 football squad will be meeting Laos in the fifth/sixth spot deciding match in the Jenesys Cup in Yamazaki, Japan tomorrow.
The young national squad under the National Football Development Programme beat Cambodia 3-0 in the fifth to eighth placing encounter at Yamazakura Sports Complex today, according to Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Facebook site.
The goals were scored by Alif Abdul Mutalib in the 67th minute, Najmudin Akmal Kamal Akmal (75th minute) and Pengiran Ilham Ag Jumaat during injury time in the second half.
In another fifth to eighth placing match, Laos defeated Singapore 4-1 in penalty kicks after both sides drew 1-1 at full-time.
In the earlier group matches, Malaysia lost 1-2 to Japan in the opener before bouncing back to crush Timor Leste 8-0 yesterday.....
