Last update: 07/03/2018

IPOH, March 7 (Bernama) -- Malaysia went down 1-5 to India in their fourth match in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament at the Azlan Shah Stadium here tonight.

The failure prevented the hosts from overtaking Argentina for second spot in the table standings. Argentina who drew 1-1 with England earlier today have collected seven points while Malaysia have six with all teams having one more match to play each.

India coached by Sjoerd Marijne were full of speed and gave the Malaysians a torrid time.

They got their break as early as the 10th minute when Shilanand Lakra beat Malaysian keeper Muhammad Hafizuddin Othman.

The homesters upped the ante thereafter and dominated the game but found the Indian defence hard to penetrate.....
