IPOH, March 7 (Bernama) -- World champions Australia maintained their unbeaten record after mauling Ireland 4-1 in their fourth match in the prestigious Sultan Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament at the Azlan Shah Stadium here this afternoon.

With this win, coach Colin Batch's boys lead the table standings with 12 points with one more match left to play.

Even though Ireland had the upperhand in the first quarter, it was Jake Whetton who scored the opening goal for the Kookaburras in the 11th minute via a field goal.

Three minutes later Daniel Beale punished them further with Australia's second, also a field goal, followed by Blake Govers making it 3-0 via a penalty corner in the 21st minute.

Ireland tried to make amends only to see Jake Harvie punishing them further with Australia's fourth in the 50th minute.....
