Last update: 14/01/2018
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- Indonesian League champion 2001, Persija Jakarta started well in the opening match of the Boost SportsFix Super Cup after winning 3-1 against Thailand's Ratchaburi Mitr Phol FC at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium tonight.

The nine-time Indonesian Amateur League (Perserikatan) champion was leading the match via a goal by former Melaka United import player, Marko Simic of Croatia in the eighth minute due to Ratchaburi's weak defence.

However, the Thai team later fought back and equalised in the 28th minute through its Germany-born defender, Philip Roller but the joy did not last long when Jaimerson da Silva Xavier scored the second goal for Persija Jakarta in the 38th minute.

The 2-1 result remained until the end of the first-half.

As the match resumed in the second half, Persija Jakarta doubled their efforts and scored its third goal via former Indonesian Under-23 player, Novri Setiawan in the 53rd minute.....
